Today, December 3 is #GivingTuesday.
A day to make the effort to give back to your community, the country, the world. The movement was created by New York’s 92nd Street Y (92Y). The United Nations Foundation then joined the effort, bringing influencers and community leaders to the project in a big way.
The mission statement for #GivingTuesday is this:
#GivingTuesday™ is a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.
How you give back is your choice – whether it’s donations of time, money, food, gifts, clothing – every town in our country – and around the world – has people in need.
