It used to be so easy to choose a tablet to buy. When the iPad, the first of the modern tablets was released, there was no real competition for at least a year or two. That has all changed. While many people still swear by the Apple iPad, others are playing the field and trying out new platforms and sizes.
6 Highly Rated New Tablets Launched in 2013
Full Sized Tablets
Apple iPad Air – The best iPad yet, and that is saying something. Weighing only 1 lb. and having nearly 12 hours of battery life are a couple of the improvements to an almost perfect device. Why do I recommend the iPad so highly? Because Apple makes devices that are easy to use. There is nothing to figure out; everything is intuitive. And the Apple app store has the most and best apps. Prices start at $499.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) – I just had a chance to try this Android tablet out and was very impressed. I you enjoy using a stylus while on a tablet, this just might be the tablet for you. An included stylus, which is tucked into the tablet, allows you to write notes and have them translated to text. This brand new 2014 version also has excellent screen resolution and Dolby Surround Sound for an amazing multimedia experience. You do pay for these features though, as the price starts at $549.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z – Do you use your tablet by the pool? Would you love to soak in the bath while using a tablet? If so, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is for You. This Sony tablet is water-resistant in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. I witnessed the tablet having been submerged in water, being pulled out, wiped down, and working perfectly. Other than that, this Android tablet is very thin and lightweight with great battery life.
Small/Medium Sized Tablet
Google Nexus 7 – If you are an Android fan, this tablet is considered one of the best android tablets you can buy right now, especially for the price, starting at $199.
iPad Mini with Retina Display – This is a beautiful tablet that I recommend for all the same reasons as I do the iPad air above. Prices start at $399.
Kindle Fire HDX 7“– Very innovative and greatly improved display, this new Kindle Fire is earning rave reviews. It is also fast and there is access to live tech support 24/7 just by pushing a button. All this starting at only $229.
Are you looking to purchase a tablet for yourself or as a gift this holiday season? Do you think you might buy any of the above? If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask anything in the comments and I will be happy to help.
