It’s almost Valentine’s Day! It’s not my favorite holiday, because it can make people feel lonely or sad. I suggest focusing on someone else who might be in the same situation and spread a little love and sunshine to them.
Here are some suggestions for making Valentine’s Day special.
Have a Galentine’s Party.
Get together with your best girlfriends. Don’t even bother trying to book a restaurant. Instead either dress up and have cocktails at home, or hang out in leggings watching movies. Do it the day after V-Day and stock up on discounted chocolate!
Make simple, hand-made Valentines. Send to your mom, a niece, or an older relative who is alone. There’s just something special about taking time to create beauty.
Give Unto Others.
Plan some charity work. After Thanksgiving and Christmas are over, charities see a drop in donations and volunteers. See if your local animal shelter or food pantry needs your time or money.
You don’t need an excuse to get a facial, massage, or a spa pedicure. Do it just because it makes you feel good.
