We had such a great response from our chili recipe round-up, we decided to do another with other kinds of party foods you might want to serve this Sunday during the Super Bowl, like some great spicy chicken wings recipes.
Check out our chili post for almost a dozen variations on chili, and one soup recipe from a rebel.
If you make ONE THING this weekend, make this amazing six-layer Mexican dip from our Food Columnist, Susan Williams. It will be a show-stopper at any party.
Hot wings are a classic for the Super Bowl, and Americans will eat 1.25 billion chicken wings this weekend. I’ve been experimenting with hot wing recipes for our party. There’s the classic Frank’s Red Hot sauce mixed with butter (a delicious heart attack in hors d’oeuvres form) .
Preparing the wings is easy–either deep fry until browned or bake in a 500 degree oven for 20 minutes. Yes, a 500 degree oven.
Let the cooked wings cool a bit, then toss them in the sauce of your choice, either a bottled wing sauce or a sauce you make yourself.
Try a twist on the basic chicken wing with tangy cranberry hot wings, or honey Sriracha wings or Asian-style wings with hoisin and lime.
No matter what you do, enjoy the most important parts of the Super Bowl–the commercials, the food, and the Puppy Bowl!
