Manhattan Cocktail Recipe

It’s February. The most hated month of the year. I heard someone say recently that if February were on Survivor, he’d be voted off the island. I don’t know about you, but I think this would be a great weekend to cuddle up with a blanket, watch Mad Men on Netflix, and drink a Manhattan.  ~Elizabeth

Recipe for ManhattanManhattan

2 1/2 ounces Whiskey (See Tips)

3/4 ounce Sweet Red Vermouth

2 dashes Angostura Bitters

1 Maraschino Cherry

In a cocktail shaker combine ice with Whiskey, Vermouth, and Angostura Bitters. Stir. Do NOT shake! You don’t want a foamy Manhattan! Strain into a small cocktail glass or champagne coupe and add a cherry.

We used Canadian Whiskey, but you can also use Bourbon or Rye. The glass is vintage. It was made by Fostoria and the pattern is called Contour.
