The problem with working from home is that you are always on. From the moment I wake up, until I put my head back on the pillow that night, I have emails, Facebook messages, and Tweets coming at me non-stop. Learning that I can wait to respond is a work in progress.
I’m thinking about starting a Thrive challenge based on Arianna Huffington’s book of the same name. Ms. Huffington swears by plenty of sleep and no smartphone in the bedroom. I’ll admit to checking my phone after my husband has gone to sleep. My excuse for having it by my bed is that it’s my alarm clock and my white noise machine.
One thing Arianna Huffington recommends for improving quality of life is meditating. I’m not sure I’m ready to meditate yet, but I do take time each day for a coffee break. Whether I use my Keurig, my Bodum French press, or my AeroPress, each day I take ten minutes to drink a cup of coffee and do nothing else but think.
To help you take your own coffee break, Midlife Boulevard has a giveaway for a new Nespresso Inissia espresso maker in white with 16 coffee pods included. (Estimated value is $129.)
After trying my friend’s Nespresso machine during a recent girls’ weekend, I was SOLD. The flavor is amazing! With this little dynamo you can make really excellent espresso at home that will remind you of that trip to Italy.

I love anything frothy and sugary that kills the actual taste of coffee. ;) I love the jolt, but not the taste!

I love the Nespresso but don't own one. Still using my faithful Melitta one cup.

My favorite coffee drink is just plain black coffee. I like to keep it simple!
