One of the most important things in life but all too often forgotten is to enjoy the journey of changes we make as we go through life and career. Track your journey by keeping a journal. Until I just wrote that word I never realized how closely it’s related to journey. Document your awakening, what you are learning about yourself, your ideas of where you might want to head. Journaling is a powerful way to unleash your creativity, release blocks, and get past your inner critic. Later, you’ll have a wonderful view of your life.
I strongly recommend that you get yourself a notebook or journal, a fabulous one that you’ll enjoy picking up, one that represents you. Also be sure you have a pen that flows easily. You don’t want to start writing and have your thoughts disrupted by something as silly as a scratchy pen.
There’s something powerful about the written word. Just the act of writing out your thoughts and feelings and dreams make them more real. Keeping a journal demonstrates to your inner self that you take it seriously.
There is no wrong way to journal. It is usually best to just start writing whatever comes to mind – to allow a stream of consciousness to flow – releasing all of your mind chatter. Start by recording the answers to the questions of your self discovery journey.
A journal tracks the progress of your journey and helps you give credit to yourself. Acknowledgement develops your faith in your own inner powers. As you progress farther along your journey of growth and self knowledge, it helps to see just how far you’ve come. Reflect and celebrate your accomplishments.
Action: Be sure to write out your feelings about answering tough questions or how you feel about the progress you are making. Even write about the reaction of those around you as you make your changes.

I love that thought - cheaper than therapy. How true! And always available.

I so agree. My journal has been the place of all my key self discoveries. It's cheaper than therapy, and easier to schedule!

Rena, and then it's so interesting to look back to see how far we've come.
