Bailey’s Coffee

It’s January. The coldest month of the year. In this week’s Weekend Indulgence we have Bailey’s Coffee, another hot drink that you can sip while celebrating the ordinary days of the year.

I’ve been traveling a lot this month. Too much. On a recent trip to Type-A Parent Conference I had a longer-than-usual layover in the Atlanta airport and found a great winter beverage to share with you. My hour in The Café Intermezzo was just what this weary traveler needed to perk up my day. The walls are lined with books and soft classical music was playing in the background.

Café Intermezzo in the Atlanta Airport

I spent some time perusing the multi-page Beverage Book and happened upon Bailey’s Coffee. It’s described as, “Intermezzo House Coffee with Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur (with or without Schlag)”

When I received my coffee I was transported to a lovely little coffeeshop in Vienna that I visited with my daughter several years ago. We had just toured the Schönbrunn Palace and needed a moment to relax and recover. We both had our coffee “mit schlag” (with whipped cream). It was heavenly.  ~Elizabeth
